About me

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

I’m Kelly, and I’ve recently discovered a love for sewing. I live in Oxford with my boyfriend, Marcus, in a flat that is way too small for my growing fabric stash! Woohoo, I’ve now bought a house, so I can buy more fabric! And I now have my own sewing room :) I started sewing at the end of 2012, after being inspired by a few friends. I started with stuff like bags, but quickly decided I wanted to start making clothes.

As Marcus puts it, I like ‘making and doing’. When I’m not sewing, I can generally be found in the kitchen baking , or doing some knitting (my other new hobby). I also enjoy rock climbing,  capoeira and roller derby.

I’ve loved reading other people’s sewing blogs, and thought I’d throw my projects out into the blogosphere as well, if for nothing else, so that I have a record of them and can track my sewing progress! It also means that I can blather on about my sewing projects to people who are a little more interested than my boyfriend, who just tends to smile and nod :) I’ve really enjoyed reading other people’s sewing blogs, so thanks for taking a look at mine!

I love hearing from you, so feel free to get in touch!

    Hi Kelly,
Sorry it has been ages, but it is half-term so I’ve been able to have a proper good read of your blog to give you your stars and wish!
*Your blog style/voice is really natural and accessible, and feels real and not all posed (3 buttonhole attempts is something I can totally relate to!)
*I like the variety of your posts – finished objects, works in process, tutorials, shopping and thoughts about sewing – and your pictures – outfit, close-ups and silly poses!
wish – I mostly read blogs on my phone which makes long paragraphs on a computer become really really long on a tiny screen. Could you break them up a bit more with pictures? (I am now going to read my own blog on my phone to see what mine is like, as I’d never thought about it before!)

Thanks very much for your comments Alison, I really appreciate them! It’s good to know you like the style, I work on the paragraph length – I think it’s probably because I don’t have enough decent photos, but I’ll just have to work on taking more!
