Pattern giveaway!

7 Aug

It’s giveaway time! I promised all you lovely folk a pattern giveaway once my blog hit 1500 views. That happened a couple of days ago (along with 1600 views, you guys are too good to me!), so I owe you some patterns!

In anticipation, I went rummaging in one of my favourite charity shops for sewing patterns, to see if I could find a couple of nice vintage patterns for you. As an aside, the first time I went into this charity shop looking for sewing patterns, I had to ask if they had any, at which point they brought me out a box of about 60 odd. When I went back in a couple of weeks later, this is what I saw when I walked in the door:

They have certainly cottoned on to the current sewing buzz!

When I went back in last week, they’ve now added a bowl of buttons to their sewing patterns and box of fabric! Good work!

Anyway, I digress…

The first pattern I picked up is Vogue Americana Oscar de la Renta 1043 evening dress pattern from around 1974 in size 12 (bust 34) . I actually saw this one when I was looking for patterns for myself in there on my first visit, and thought it was absolutely gorgeous, but didn’t really think I could pull it off, or have an occasion to wear it for. But I’m hoping I can’ find it a good home with one of you.

How beautiful is that?!

The second pattern is Vogue 7080 misses dress pattern (circa 1970s, can’t really find anything more specific), again size 12, complete with a couple of hand written notes on the pattern envelope.

EDIT: Because I realised that both the patterns above are the same size, I thought I’d throw another one into the mix, for those of you who don’t happen to be that size. So, here is Butterick Classics Fast & Easy 3083 (1985) skirt pattern, in sizes 12-16 (waist 26.5-30 inches):

If you want to get your hands on one of these patterns, all you need to do is follow the steps below.

1. Follow this blog, via any method you wish – email, wordpress, bloglovin’, another reader of your choice

2. Leave a comment below letting me know which pattern you’d like (feel free to say all 3 and I’ll enter you for all of them) and which method you follow the blog by.

Simples!

The giveaway will close next Wednesday, 14th August at midnight UK time (that’s midnight at the end of Wednesday, not the beginning of!)

Good luck, and thanks for visiting!

P.s. the giveaway is open worldwide!

No problem! By both I’m guessing you mean the two dresses? I added a third pattern after I’d published it!

Lovely patterns, don’t you LOVE it when you pop into a charity shoppe and BAMN, surrounded by vintage patterns. I’ve obtained quite a few that way. Please don’t enter me in your lovely giveaway as the sizing will be too big. But, stay tuned, as I’m having a giveaway on my blog of, yup, you guessed it, patterns I got at the charity shop that are too big for me! Good luck with your giveaway and congrats on gettig 1600 views. (Now, 1601 :) )

I do, I went a little crazy a while ago and now I have a little stash to work through! Although the disadvantage of vintage patterns is them often only being one size :( I will keep an eye out for yours!

Looks like your charity shop has cottoned on quicker than mine has! There’s plenty of knitting patterns, but I can never find any sewing patterns :(
Please enter me for Vogue 7080 – I had instant pattern lust for view A, swoooon!
    Thank you for hosting :)

Have you tried asking in charity shops? There were about 10 that I went into, only one of them had a couple out, but 4 others had a huge bag/box out the back that they let me look through when I asked if they had any. The shop in the pic has only put them out recently. I do love that view A, I almost contemplated keeping that one myself, but then I realised it’s too small for me!
